IA farmers weigh options for manure type, use

December 9, 2016, Carroll, IA — Abe Sandquist deals with manure for a living. Sandquist, who operates Natural Fertilizer Services in Woodbine, says manure is a valuable resource that must be handled properly.

It must be handled with care both because it provides important nutrients that shouldn’t be wasted and also because there are risks to the public and to the farmer if it is not handled the right way.

Speaking to a group of farmers at a recent meeting sponsored by the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers (CSIF), Sandquist talked about the importance of manure management plans. READ MORE
